Local and international scholars, along with Concordia’s own experts, will discuss the synergy among comic books (manga), animated television shows and films (anime), novels, video games and soundtracks. The conference begins with a keynote lecture by acclaimed scholar and manga writer Eiji Otsuka on The Unholy Alliance of Disney and Eisenstein: The Wartime Origins of Manga, Animation and Otaku Culture. The symposium features four panel presentations followed by an interactive game arcade experience called Mixcade. I hope you join me and participate in what promises to be a dynamic and innovative event. Sincerely,
